The last dayof the first month of the year ended with a spectacular sunset. Birds are telling us of the coming spring. The Red-winged Balckbird sang out his territorial claim as the sun went down beyong Primehook marsh tonight.

This Great Blue Heron flew into a creek as the last rays of the setting sun peaked over the top of the bank tonight.

I swung through Primehook Refuge on the way home from work today and was lucky to find a nice variety of birds in the marsh, in a tree and in a field. All three of these photos were taken within 15 minutes and a mile of each other. Nice ride home today.
