Okay, this is the last eagle post from the series shot last Sunday morning.

Another in the eagle series. Anybody getting tired of them yet?

Yesterday I posted a nice portrait of our regal national bird. As majestically as they posed, only a few brief minutes later they lost all composure as one flew off, nearly pushing its tree-mate off in the process. I think I overheard the lower bird protest in eagle-ese, ‘Hey watch it, bird brain.’

The number of Bald Eagles in Delaware has been rising over the past few years. Honestly, rarely a day goes by that I don’t see at least one eagle somewhere in my travels. Yesterday morning I saw two, stacked up in a tree looking out over a creek for a fish to convert into breakfast.

Eagles gathered in a grove of trees this morning on the edge of the marsh as the sun rose. Ten Bald Eagles were grouped together waiting for enough light to start fishing for breakfast. In this photograph one leaves as the other two watch and wait.

I spent a cold morning at the Conowingo Dam watching Bald Eagles roost in trees and fish pretty far from where the photographers lines the shore. A mature and immature came close enough for quick shot. I need to go back there for another try on these guys.

Last night I posted one photograph of an eagle I had shot earlier in the evening. Here are the rest of the sequence of his launch into flight.

We have had a fair share of cloudy days recently, so with a bright sunny sky today I headed out toward Delaware Bay after work in search of subjects. This eagle was enjoying the break in the weather too.
