Snowgeese + Sunset Afterglow = A Nice Moment

Filed Under Scenics, Snow Geese, Sunrises and Sunsets, Winter 2010

Last night I photographed the pintails that I posted last night and on the way out of the marsh I saw a thousand or more snowgeese in a field just after the sun had set. Here is one from that moment.

Sunset Tonight

Filed Under Fall 2009, Snow Geese, Sunrises and Sunsets

The forecast is for snow here in Delaware on Saturday. Tonight there were snows in the sky at sunset, Snowgeese pitching into their over-night field as the sun went down behind the trees.

The Lucky Goose

Filed Under Snow Geese, Winter 2009

Sometimes a lucky goose finds something good to eat that none of the others found.  When this happens it is best to run away with the prize.

Flying Snow

Filed Under Snow Geese, Winter 2009

We had a nice snowstorm last night that lingered throughout the day today.  Just before sunset large flocks of Snowgeese worked over a field in search of food.  These two were photographed changing position in a light snow.

Settling Down for the Night

Filed Under Snow Geese, Sunrises and Sunsets, Winter 2009

These Snow Geese were settling into a field tonight as the sun set. The temperature had risen to a comfortable 55 this afternoon and there was a little more humidity in the air resulting in some nice sunset colors.

Sunset Action

Filed Under Scenics, Snow Geese, Winter 2009

I finally got back out tonight and have three photographs to post.  I watched hundreds of Snow Geese first set down and then take off from a winter wheat field.  I also watched the sun set through a line of trees on the far edge of the marsh.  You can find more of my photographs on my new flickr site.  I am ‘tprat del’ on flickr so check it out.
