I lucked into a large group of egrets and gulls this morning who, themselves, had lucked into shallow water in the marsh that was teeming with fish. The birds and I were very lucky, the not fish not so.

Hurricane Earl passed offshore of the Delawre coast today, doing little more than casting big waves to shore. The sun came out from behind clouds just before it set, lighting up Earl’s waves nicely.

I found this guy hiding low to the ground on a recent dewy morning. I believe it is a Salt Marsh Moth but if I misidentified this please tell me. It was rapidly beating its wings just before it took off for its initial morning flight.
