Last night I photographed the pintails that I posted last night and on the way out of the marsh I saw a thousand or more snowgeese in a field just after the sun had set. Here is one from that moment.

The howling northwest winds gusted to 50 miles per hour and the temperature peaked at 26 degrees here in Lewes, Delaware today. I waded through 18 inches of frozen sea slush to get a photograph of sunset at Cape Henlopen tonight. It was brutally cold but this scene is rare here.

The forecast is for snow here in Delaware on Saturday. Tonight there were snows in the sky at sunset, Snowgeese pitching into their over-night field as the sun went down behind the trees.

The first fall-like air has spread into Delaware the over the last couple of days. With a north wind blowing birds were settled in a bit so I shot this sunset at the Mispillion Inlet.

This fisherman was throwing a cast net tonight in hopes of coming up with some bait. He had no luck while I was there but he caught the setting sun very nicely for me.
