Breakfast with a Heron, January 13

I lucked upon a Heron this morning who was more hungry than wary, and I was able to photograph it while it very successfully fished for breakfast.  The plumage is typical of a young Great Blue Heron in it’s first year.  This one had the water it was working in all to itself and a lot of fish for the taking.  The last picture in this post shows what a bait fish’s last sight might look like.
