A Skewer of Egrets?

May 14, 2021

What in the world is that?  No, it’s not egret shish kabob. According to whatBird.com a group of egrets can be called a ‘congregation’, ‘heronry’, ‘RSVP’, ‘skewer”, or ‘wedge’.  I had no idea about that but when I saw this many egrets packed together so tightly I knew I was on a rare photography opportunity.  Once the files were on my computer I saw the graphic impact of white on black, form, shadow and texture in an interesting pattern.
