I photographed this beautiful monarch butterfly a few days back as it pollens-up to help fuel its winter getaway to Mexico. Unbeknownst to me there were three other insects hosted by this flower stem. Not knowing precisely (but happily waiting for viewers of this post to inform me), I identify yellow aphids, an unidentified long feelered bug behind the aphids and two very small dark bugs that seem to be of interest to the aphids. The second photo shows this detail. You never know what is lurking out there in nature but I thank my camera and lens for revealing what had been the unseen.
