Its not often that we see the egret’s feet up close…I didn’t realize they were so yellow. It looks like he stepped on freshly painted curbs or a newly lined road! Question back to you: what kinds of natural advantage do egrets gain by having the bright yellow feet?
Well, I have seen them use their feet when fishing. They shake their feet back and forth in front of them as they stare into the water. My guess is that the bright yellow color of the feet helps scare the bait fish into swimiiming and the beack does the rest.
