Unlike the maple dominated Northwoods where red and orange dominate the forest palette, the woods in the MId-Atlantic region of the Blue Ridge Mountains are dominated by yellow/gold leaves of hickories and black gums when they change color. Low angle morning sun lit this grove up into a golden grove.
