Photography is all about the light. Well, ok, it’s also all about the subject but the quality of light is critical to the power of the image. An otherwise mundane subject becomes far more interesting, even artistic, with dramatic, complementary light. Weather was working with me the other day as the remnants of Debby passed over Delmarva. I was in corn country and bright sun occasionally popped out between dark, threatening clouds. Pam was behind the wheel and we explored several back roads until I found the spot I wanted, sun lighting up corn stalks with the foreboding sky backing up the foreground. I hope you feel the moment as much as I did.
