Jutting out into the Hudson River between the west ends of W 13th Street and Little W 12th Street in Manhattan, near Greenwich Village, is Little Island, a unique urban park. This park occupies the space that was Pier 55 and just opened for public enjoyment in 2021. The unique support structures, called tulips, suspend the park above the water. A total of 280 of them are in place to get that job done. This view is towed the southwest and takes in FDNY pier and Jersey City beyond. When we were there it was very decidedly a monochromatic day.
