Lots of Crabs, Lots of Birds

At sunrise this morning Semipalmated Sandpipers feasted on eggs left on the beach by thousands of Horseshoe Crabs.

    Did you see and Red Knots? Just saw a show about them on UNC-TV and they said that the horseshoe crab egg buffet was a critical stop on their migration from South America to the Arctic for breeding.
