Macro Morning In A Field

August 10, 2023

I went out early this morning  with my new macro rig looking for subjects.  I like early morning dew on plants and slooow moving insects that make for a target rich photography environment.  Normally August mornings are ripe for this condition but currently our dew points are low (for this time of year)meaning there is less dew than usual in the morning.  I spent more time hunting than shooting. I have two keepers from my  wandering around a field of wildflowers this morning shortly after sunrise.  I thoroughly enjoined the walk-about and will continue searching the macro world for interesting photo ops.  For my geeky, equipment-head friends, just like me, I am shooting with a Nikon Z9 body, Micro Nikkor 105mm f2.8 (with Z coupler), Nikon SB-5000 Speedlight with an AK Diffuser attached, hand held (no tripod). Photos are of live plants in situ, un-staged, and in a field with light wind blowing.
