The near-shore ocean was apparently a good place to feed and rest tonight, judging by the number of ducks and gulls present. I even saw a seal swim by but he never lifted his head high enough for a good photograph. The gulls put on a wonderful flying display and the mergansers were not happy when I turned my lens in their direction. Their burst of flight off of the ocean surface was beautiful to see and photograph.
