Morning Meadow

August 27, 2024

Approaching Labor Day weekend there are many signs of the changing seasons all around us.  Heavy dew in the morning, shorter hours of sun during the day, lower average high daytime temperatures and, of course, a higher possibility of foggy mornings.  Here on the Delaware coast fog was thick this morning.  The fog horn blared and schools delayed the start of the day.  We had to be in Georgetown early today and the fog limited visibility on the drive at some points to less than a football field in front of us.  This photo was taken on a foggy morning in Lewes four years ago when cattle strolled about a field on Gills Neck Rd.  The fog and heavy dew created a painterly scene that is an iconic fall visual.
