Northwesterlies

November 9, 2014

Kevin Fleming, Pamela Aquilani and I taught a photography seminar yesterday which, judging from the feedback we received, was both informative and fun for the group.  I enjoyed the class and the whole day very much.  A question was asked concerning meteorological conditions that make for great colors at sunrise and sunset.  One weather pattern I key on is the passage of a front or the last remnants of a departing storm when clouds are breaking up, the sea is still storm whipped and strong winds, particularly off shore northwesterlies are blowing.  Here is a photograph taken recently on a Delaware beach as those conditions unfolded.
