The summer of 2022 was a dry one in Delaware. The ponds within Bombay Hook National Wildlife dried up to a very large extent. There was, however, one ponded area that apparently held an abundance of small fish and underwater vegetation that attracted a high concentration of fish and plant feeders. I hit a wildlife quadfecta in this photograph that includes the focal point tricolored heron surrounded by a mute swan, snowy egrets and blue crabs on the bank. A nice moment of coastal abundance.
